A new diploma that will contribute to the creation of
innovative solutions to address climate change has been launched
- The new programme on Climate Change, Energy and Sustainable Development, kicks off today with the conference called 'The Climate Change and the Challenges for Costa Rica'.
10 August, 2016. San Jose, Costa Rica. The University for Peace with the support of the ‘Energy Security and Climate Change’ Regional Programme in Latin America of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Universidad La Salle, Costa Rica, inaugurates today the new Diploma on Climate Change, Energy and Sustainable Development, which will serve as a learning space and to exchange ideas, with the objective of promoting the discourse on these issues and to create innovative solutions.
On the occasion of the opening of this Diploma, a conference will be held today at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Universidad La Salle, called 'Climate change and challenges for Costa Rica'.
Organizations involved motivates people to specialize themselves in these continuing issues, as the country must adapt and become an active part of the global efforts to reduce gas emissions and contribute to the solution a global problem.
The Diploma targets people from all sectors: business, civil society and public sector. Also, by its multidisciplinary approach, its scope is broad and will be useful for professionals of any professional background.
The programme will have the participation of national and international experts, whom will lead the classes and discussions to achieve the goals specified in the academic offer comprised by professors from prestigious academic institutions form Costa Rica, Europe and Latin America such as: Macro Secretariat for the United Nations Convention on Climate Change, ECLAC, OLADE, UNDP, the National Meteorological Institute, Progresum, among others. As well as professors from non-governmental organizations, as Nivela and Costa Rica Limpia.
