Dr. Francisco Rojas Aravena, Rector of the University for Peace and Dean Dr. Juan Carlos Sainz-Borgo had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza to discuss matters relating to cooperation systems, academic exchanges and the International System.
Dr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza is a member of the Board of the European Centre for Peace and Development (ECPD) in Belgrade, co-president of the Institute of Human Rights, Democracy, Culture of Peace and Non-violence at the Autonomous University of Madrid and former UNESCO director-general.
Dr. Zaragoza has stood out for his tireless drive to promote the culture of peace, the defense of human rights, and peaceful coexistence. Rector Rojas and Dr. Zaragoza had the opportunity to share their perspectives, concerns and priorities regarding the relationship between the European Centre for Peace and Development and the University for Peace.
They also had a chance to talk about plans for improving academic exchange programs between the two institutions.
Dr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza took the opportunity to express its sincere congratulations to the rector of the University for Peace for his clear commitment to youth, sustainable development, migration integration and the defense of human rights demonstrated in his excellent Masters and Doctorate programs.
To conclude, they sealed their meeting with a commitment to present a document with proposals for improvements to the relations between the ECPD and the University for Peace.
